You know when you drop a bottle of soda and turn your face away just enough to see if it explodes - that's us this morning. Fingers crossed this makes it to your inbox. Feel free to hit reply and see if that works too. Happy Friday!

Emotionally Intelligent People Embrace the 'Rule of Reappraisal'

Do you ever find that time flies by when you are working on a big project? Either for work or passion, sometimes we take on more than we can handle. It's easy to be overwhelmed with the tasks ahead and feel like giving up. Justin Bariso recently shared this helpful advice:

Don't focus on what you have ahead of you. Instead, look back on what you already accomplished.

So, the next time you feel that your day, week, or even year was a failure, resist the urge to look ahead. Instead, take a moment to look back.

“Our body is telling us we’re in danger, but we know that we’re safe in these cushy theater seats,” Scahill added “Allowing yourself to be triggered in a safe environment can actually be a process of therapy.”
