Why Reading Books Should Be Your Priority, According to Science

Ok, we all know we should read more - but why? Several recent studies give us a few good reasons...

Reading fiction can help you be more open-minded and creative via University of Toronto.

People who read books live longer. Yale researchers who studied 3,635 people older than 50 and found that those who read books for 30 minutes daily lived an average of 23 months longer than nonreaders or magazine readers.

Successful people are readers. High achievers are keen on self-improvement. You're not doing yourself any favors if you're in the 26 percent of American adults who haven't read even part of a book within the past year. Via Inc

HEALTH

Maybe you should stretch before bed each night

If you awake each morning feeling sore and like you should get a better night sleep - try stretching before you hit the sack. A 2016 analysis of several health related studies suggested there’s a link between meditative movements and better sleep.

Stretching helps you get in tune with your body and breath instead of focusing on every annoying thing that happened that day. Stretching also provides relief from muscle aches, tension, and distracting leg cramps that may happen during sleep.
